PIC joined environmental global program “Operation Clean Sweep” (OCS) to Reduce the Plastic waste

PIC announced joining environmental global program “Operation Clean Sweep” (OCS) which is managed by Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association (GPCA) to eliminate the plastic waste.

PIC’s DCEO and member in Responsible Care Committee (GPCA) Eng. Shafi AlAjmi said that by signing the pledge PIC must ensure that OCS sustainable best practice requirements are implemented across its facilities in a bid to eliminate accidental loss of pellets during production.

AlAjmi stated that OCS pledge is a strong example of PIC’s continuous drive to shrink its carbon footprint and the company believes that by further strengthening its accidental loss processes, it will not only help protect the environment and save valuable resources, but will also deliver greater added value for a more competitive, resilient plastics industry.

Eng. Shafi concluded that Since PIC’s establishment it cares about environment because of its commitment to International Standards across its plants and productions by launching many initiatives and sponsoring many events to achieve UN Goal for sustainable development strategy 2025. This has been considered as a part of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) for preserving the environment and saving its resources for a clean environment free from pollution to the future generation.
