Product Selection Guide
Introduction
Petrochemical Industries company (PIC) is one of the oldest petrochemical companies in the Middle East with 35 years of production experience behind it. Our products include Fertilizers, (Prill & granular urea, Ammonia) & PP.
The company has entered into a new era by including Polyolefins into its product portfolio. It has simultaneously started production of 450,000 tpy of Linear Low Density Polyethylene and High Density Polyethylene in addition to 340,000 tpy of Ethylene Glycol in its EQUATE joint venture with Dow Chemical and 100,000 tpy of Polypropylene in a wholly owned plant.
QURAIN POLYPROPYLENE
Qurain® is the registered trade name for plastic materials including Polypropylene produced and marketed by PIC Qurain®. Polypropylene is available in various grades in a melt flow rate range of 3.0 to 25.0 dg/min covering major film, injection molding and coarse & fine fiber markets. Base polymer of each Qurain® Polypropylene grade and its respective formulation is specifically designed for optimum processability and end product performance.
Qurain® Polypropylene homopolymer and impact copolymer grades are listed below to guide you in your selection. Individual data sheets for each grade providing more detailed information on their properties are available upon request.
Qurain® Polypropylene is also available as Impact Copolymer for injection molding applications requiring high impact resistance at low and normal ambient temperatures. They have a good balance of stiffness and toughness and impart good surface finish to molded articles. We have an evolving Impact Copolymer product range to offer. Contact us with your individual requirements for a suitable grade for your application.

AVAILABILITY
Qurain® Polypropylene is available in polyethylene bags with a net weight of 25 kg each in a wrapped palletized form. It can also be provided in bulk by road bulk carriers to users accessible by road from Kuwait.
SAFETY
Polypropylene is practically non-toxic and under normal conditions of use it is non-hazardous. However, contact with product fires and heated vapors should be avoided. Adequate ventilation must be employed and exhaust hoods should be installed over processing machines. Material safety data sheets containing more detailed information are available from PIC. We urge you to read our product safety information and enforce good housekeeping in your plant.
STORAGE
Polypropylene must be stored in a dry shaded area at a constant temperature preferably below 40 C but not exceeding 48 C. Direct sunlight and heat should be avoided. Dust and moisture must be kept out.
FOOD APPROVAL
All Qurain® Polypropylene grades comply with the relevant directives of European Union and FDA regulations of USA for food contact usage. Detailed information on each grade is available upon request.
