Product properties and applications of Para-Xylene & Benzene

Para-Xylene is a volatile, colorless liquid. It is one of the isomers of Xylene.

Para-Xylene is the key ingredient in the production of PTA (Purified Terephthalic Acid), which is used to make polyester for the fabric and PET (Poly-Ethylene Terephthalate) chips for carbonated soft drink and water bottles.

Para-Xylene is used as a raw material for the production of Tere-Phthalic Acid (TPA) and subsequently purified Phy-Thalic Acid (PTA) which is a basic petrochemical used for the production of Poly-Ethylene Terephthalate (PET) and Polyesters which are widely used in textile manufacturing and packing industries.

Benzene is also a volatile, flammable, colorless liquid that is insoluble in water.  It is widely used to produce numerous compounds, such as Styrene, Cyclohexane, Alkyl benzene, Chlorobenzene, etc, which are used in the production of plastics, pharmaceuticals, pesticides, and other chemicals.
