Implementation Plan

Petrochemical Industries Company has appointed Bechtel Ltd. UK as project managing contractor for the Aromatics Project.

PIC selected UOP LLC, USA. to supply technology, basic engineering services and equipment for the Aromatics complex to installed on green land in shuaiba Industrial Area south of Kuwait. 

One Engineering, Procurement and Construction Contractor (EPC Contractor) will carry out the Inside Battery Limit (ISBL) of the project on LUMP SUM Contract basis.  For the Outside Battery Limit (OSBL) there will be several jobs that will be appointed to several contractors on either LUMP SUM or Cost Plus contract basis.

- M/S Bechtel is selected as the PMC,

- M/S UOP is selected as the Technology Licensor,

- Technimont of Italy and SKEC of Korea formed a Consortium for the execution of the AROMATICS PLANT EPS Contract,

- The commercial start up of the plant is expected on the first quarter 2009.
